Sale of Vintage Street Signs begins October 28, 2019

NOTICE OF SALE OF PROPERTY

            Please be advised that the Borough of Harrington Park, County of Bergen, shall conduct a sale of surplus property of old street signs. The sale will be conducted at the Borough Hall, 85 Harriot Avenue, Harrington Park, starting October 28, 2019, 9am, and running through December 13, 2019, 4:30pm.

            The surplus property as identified shall be sold in an “as-is” condition without express or implied warranties as a direct sale, at the cost of $40 per sign, on a first come basis, with a 3 sign maximum per purchase. Payment shall be cash or check only at time of purchase, no credit cards accepted.

            Funds from the sale shall benefit the Beautification Trust Fund for municipal beautification and the purchase of new street signs.

            Sale is being conducted pursuant to New Jersey Revised Statutes 40A:11-36 and total sales does not exceed 15% of the bid threshold.

When considering a raffle for your organization you will need to do the following:

1) Check your organization's Raffle License which has been issued by the State of New Jersey to ensure

that it is valid through the pulling of the raffle prize date.

2) If it is not, you need to renew with the State of New Jersey prior to applying for a Raffle License.

3) Contact the Clerk's Office at 201-768-1700 to obtain a raffle license application number

4) Print out 3 copies (from the link below) of Click the link below for a writeable application form

5) After application is completed, have signatures notarized.

6) Bring the (3) application forms to the Borough Clerk's Office with 2 checks written out as follows:

     $10 to the Borough of Harrington Park

    $20 to LGCCC (Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission)

ONCE APPLICATIONS ARE RECIEVED, THE RAFFLE LICENSE WILL BE APPROVED AT THE NEXT MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEETING. 

GENERALLY THESE MEETINGS ARE THE 2ND AND 3RD MONDAYS OF EACH MONTH.

AFTER APPROVAL FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, 15 DAYS MUST BE ALLOWED FOR THE STATE TO APPROVE YOUR APPLICATION.  

ONCE APPROVED BY LGCCC, THE BOROUGH CLERK WILL ISSUE YOU AN OFFICIAL LICENSE AND YOU MAY HOLD YOUR RAFFLE.

IMPORTANT PROPERTY TAX INFORMATION

1st quarter taxes are due February 1, 2021 Grace period is for 10 days, if received after 2/10/21, interest charges revert back to 2/01/21.

We have now added a new feature where our residents can pay taxes online.

Fee for paying taxes online with credit card is 2.95% of the transaction cost, and if you pay by your checking account it will be $1.95.

You will be able to look up your taxes, print current tax bills and see if your taxes have been paid and posted.

You can also, mail your tax payments or you can drop it off in drop box at Borough hall. If you require receipt please give us stamped self-addressed envelope, and I will mail it to you or you can go online and print statues of your tax payment.

Please put your PTR forms in our mail box with your phone number. I will be signing off and will call everyone once a week to arrange a time of pick up.

NJ SENIOR FREEZE/PROPERTY TAX REIMBURSEMENT

The deadline for filing 2019 Form PTR-1 (for first timers – see eligibility requirements here - https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/ptr/eligibility.shtml) or PTR-2 is November 2, 2020. We kindly ask that you wait until the Governor’s Stay at Home Order is lifted to have Form PTR-1A or PTR-2A (Verification of Property Taxes Paid) completed by the Tax Collector at borough hall.

If you must, file for whatever reason then call me or email me and I will be working with you on individual basis. You will have to drop the form in Borough hall mail box with self-addressed envelope so I can send that back to you.
