The Tax Assessor's Office is responsible for the assessment of all real property within the taxing district,

and for the processing of deeds, sub-divisions,

reviewing all building permits to determine additional value, and keeping up with map changes.

Any questions regarding current tax assessment, veteran's deduction, and senior citizens deduction

can be answered by the Tax Assessor's Office.

Issue Chapter 75 notices

Annual assessment post cards are typically mailed at the end of January of each year and state the current year's assessed value. Taxpayers have the right to file an appeal with the Bergen County Board of Taxation if they are not satisfied with their assessment.  Tax appeal forms (with instructions) can be obtained on the Bergen County Tax Board web-site (http://www.co.bergen.nj.us/236/Real-Property-Taxation) or by calling the Bergen County Tax Board at: 201-336-6300.  The deadline to file a tax appeal is April 1, of every year.
